Perimeter LED Lighting – Frame Mounted LED Modules for Lightboxes

Perimeter LED Lighting – Frame Mounted LED Modules for Lightboxes

Professional perimeter LED lighting modules designed to mount along the inner frame edges of lightboxes, SEG fabric systems, and display panels. DC24V constant voltage, globally certified, delivering uniform hotspot-free illumination from all four sides of your lightbox frame.

What Is Perimeter LED Lighting?

Perimeter LED lighting (also called perimeter light bars or frame mounted LED modules) refers to LED modules installed along the perimeter — the inner edges — of a lightbox frame. Rather than backlighting from behind, perimeter lighting illuminates the display panel from all four sides simultaneously, creating exceptionally even, hotspot-free illumination across the full graphic surface.

This approach is the professional standard for exhibit booth lighting and SEG fabric systems:

  • SEG fabric lightbox frames (perimeter mounting on all four edges)
  • Rigid aluminum lightbox frames for trade show displays
  • Large-format advertising lightboxes requiring uniform illumination
  • Exhibition booth display walls with deep frame profiles
  • Retail display lightboxes requiring consistent brightness across the panel

How to Calculate Perimeter LED Modules for Your Lightbox

Perimeter LED modules are installed along each inner edge of the lightbox frame, facing inward toward the graphic panel. Quantity is based on the length of each frame edge, not the total lightbox area.

  • 470mm modules: Space no more than 50cm apart. One module per 50cm of frame edge length.
  • 200mm modules: Space no more than 25cm apart. One module per 25cm of frame edge length.
  • 157mm modules: Space no more than 20cm apart. One module per 20cm of frame edge length.

For best uniformity, install modules on all four frame edges. For smaller lightboxes, top and bottom edge installation is usually sufficient. Contact us with your frame dimensions for a precise recommendation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between perimeter lighting and backlit lighting?

Perimeter lighting mounts modules along the inner frame edges, illuminating the panel from the sides. Backlit lighting mounts modules behind the panel. Perimeter (edge-lit) lighting is preferred for slim frame profiles and SEG fabric systems; backlit configurations are used for deeper lightbox cabinets.

How many perimeter LED modules do I need?

Calculate based on frame edge length: one 470mm module per 50cm of edge, or one 200mm module per 25cm. For a standard 1m×2m lightbox, you'd need approximately 2 modules per short edge and 4 modules per long edge (using 470mm modules). Contact us for a custom layout recommendation.

Are your perimeter LED modules UL certified?

Yes. Our perimeter light bar modules are UL certified (File E468193), ETL listed, CE, and UKCA certified — accepted at major trade show venues and commercial installations worldwide.

What types of exhibit display light are compatible with SEG frames?

Our LED exhibit light modules are specifically engineered for SEG fabric and rigid aluminum frames. Each module mounts directly to the inner frame edge and functions as a high-performance exhibit display light, delivering uniform brightness across the full graphic panel without hotspots.
