Choosing the Right Wattage

Wattage determines brightness. More watts = more lumens = more visibility from a distance. Here’s how to choose:

Model Watts Lumens Best For Price
11W Accent Light 11W Accent, EU shows, luxury brands $74.99
21W Linkable 21W 2,100lm Shelving, daisy chain setups $78.99
25W Display Arm 25W 3,250lm 10×10 booths, fabric displays $79.99
35W Exhibition 35W 3,500lm 10×20, premium inline $95.99
50W Linkable 50W 5,500lm 20×20+, island booths, max brightness $114.99

Color Temperature Guide

Color temperature (measured in Kelvin) affects how your products and graphics look. All our arm lights are available in three color temperatures:

Which Color Temperature Should You Choose?

  • 3000K (Warm White): Best for food, luxury goods, fashion, and wood/natural materials. Creates a warm, inviting atmosphere.
  • 4500K (Neutral White): The most versatile choice. Accurate color rendering for most products and graphics. Recommended for first-time exhibitors.
  • 6000K (Cool White / Daylight): Best for technology, automotive, industrial, and medical products. Creates a clean, clinical look.

All our lights have CRI90+ — meaning colors render accurately regardless of which temperature you choose. CRI (Color Rendering Index) is more important than color temperature for product accuracy.

ETL & UL Certification

Most major US trade show venues require ETL or UL listed lighting for all booth electrical equipment. Non-certified lights can be confiscated by venue electricians during setup — a costly mistake on show day.

Venue Certification Required
McCormick Place, Chicago ETL or UL Listed
Las Vegas Convention Center ETL or UL Listed
Orange County Convention Center ETL or UL Listed
Jacob K. Javits Center, NYC ETL or UL Listed
European venues (Messe) CE Marked

Our 21W, 25W, and 50W linkable arm lights are all ETL listed. Our EU-plug variants carry CE marking for European shows.

Daisy Chaining Explained

Daisy chaining lets you connect multiple lights in series from a single power outlet — critical at trade shows where floor outlets are limited and extension cords are often restricted by venue rules.

Our Linkable Models

  • 21W Linkable: Chain up to 10 lights from 1 outlet — best for shelving and product display zones
  • 50W Linkable: Chain up to 6 lights from 1 outlet — best for perimeter lighting on large island booths

Non-linkable models (25W, 35W) require one outlet per light. Plan your power drops accordingly before ordering.

Lighting by Industry

Different industries have different lighting priorities. Here’s a quick reference:

Fashion & Cosmetics

3000K Warm White

CRI90+ essential. Warm light flatters skin tones and fabric colors. 25W per light, 3–4 for 10×10.

Technology & Electronics

6000K Cool White

Clean, bright light that makes screens and hardware look sharp. 50W for large displays.

Food & Beverage

3000K–4500K

Warm light enhances food colors. CRI90+ critical for accurate product appearance.

Luxury & Premium Brands

3000K + Accent Lights

Combine 25W backwall lights with 11W accent lights for a layered, premium look.

Healthcare & Medical

4500K–6000K

Neutral to cool white for a clinical, professional appearance. ETL certification critical.

Automotive & Industrial

6000K Cool White

Maximum brightness to showcase finishes and details. 50W linkable for large displays.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the most important factor in trade show booth lighting?
CRI (Color Rendering Index) is the most overlooked but most important factor. A CRI90+ light renders colors accurately — your product looks the same under booth lighting as it does in real life. Wattage determines brightness, but CRI determines quality. All our lights are CRI90+.
How far in advance should I order trade show lights?
Order at least 2–3 weeks before your show to allow time for shipping, testing, and any returns or exchanges. For large island booth setups (10+ lights), order 4 weeks in advance to allow time for a full test setup before the show.
Can I use the same lights at shows in the US and Europe?
Yes, if you order the correct plug type. All our arm lights are available with US, EU, UK, and AU plugs. The 11W model features universal voltage (AC85–265V) and works worldwide. For other models, order the plug type matching your primary market.
What happens if my lights fail ETL inspection at the venue?
Venue electricians can confiscate non-certified lights during setup, leaving you with no booth lighting on show day. Always verify certification before ordering. Our 21W, 25W, and 50W arm lights are ETL listed and accepted at all major US venues.
Do you offer volume discounts for exhibit houses and rental companies?
Yes. We sell direct from the factory and offer volume pricing for exhibit houses, rental companies, and distributors. Contact us for a custom quote on orders of 10+ units.
