Reworking a wide graphic lightbox for a Supermicro INNOVATE! EMEA technology showcase? This selection helps exhibit fabricators review internal LED sources when an existing display becomes a wider backdrop around cabinets, demonstrations and AV. The original display maker documents a reconfigured wide lightbox and modular sponsor displays; it does not identify BOOTH LIGHTS parts or establish replacement compatibility.
Redraw the light path when the backdrop becomes wider
Map the original illuminated sections and the added sections separately. Record clear depth, print material, support positions, lens orientation and the light path to the centre of each face. Build a representative joined section with the final graphic. Inspect the boundary between reused and new sections: matching nominal wattage does not establish matching brightness, and a dark centre may need a different layout rather than another untested bar.
Keep the enlarged lightbox circuit separate from demo equipment
Draw each DC24V lighting run and driver load after the resize, including cable routes past cabinets and service access behind the graphic. Do not turn a longer backdrop into one unlimited daisy chain. Check lens and cable clearance at every new join, then photograph the joined face at fixed exposure with the surrounding demonstration screens in their intended positions. These LEDs illuminate printed graphics; they do not power servers, screens or illuminated flooring.
Compare LED lightbox sources
- 20W rigid edge-lit bar: DC24V, 470 × 24 × 16mm including the lens, 2200lm ±10%, 10° × 40° optics. Compare its light path with the usable cavity and brace locations. More output does not by itself establish even illumination.
- Linkable edge-lit bars: DC24V; 212mm/9W, 319mm/14W or 480mm/20W, with standard 20° × 60° optics. Select a length for each clear mounting section. Maximum five compatible bars per run depends on the actual cable and connector arrangement.
- 7W mini edge-lit bar: DC24V, 200 × 23 × 16mm, 770lm, standard 20° × 60° optics. Compare it for shorter return sections; a Molex 5557 / Mini-Fit Jr. family designation does not establish a matching connector pinout.
Can I keep the same LED count when widening a lightbox for INNOVATE! EMEA?
Recheck the layout instead of assuming either the same count or a count scaled only by width. Additional spans, changes in depth, braces and print transmission affect the light path. Test the join between retained and added sections, record the acceptable appearance, and calculate driver and wiring loads for that actual layout.
Do extra watts automatically fix a dark centre in a wider graphic lightbox?
No. The source direction, cavity geometry, supports, reflective surfaces and printed face affect how light reaches the centre. Compare layouts in a representative full-depth section. Approve the graphic appearance rather than substituting a higher-power bar without testing.
Can I extend a linkable LED run across the whole enlarged backdrop?
Follow the selected bar's permitted run, connector and cable limits. The linkable family here allows up to five compatible bars per run subject to the supplied cable and connector arrangement. A wider graphic may need separately planned runs and drivers; overall display width does not establish the allowed circuit length.
Before ordering
Confirm the retained frame drawings, new-section geometry, existing LED identification, graphic sample and intended driver positions. Choose a compatible external DC24V constant-voltage supply for each permitted run and verify connector pinout and polarity. Ask the exhibit owner before modifying a rental or proprietary system; no compatibility with the documented maker's frames is implied.
Send the old and proposed backdrop dimensions, internal sections, photographs of the existing sources, cabinet positions and printed material. Compare all 26 LED Modules products below and request a prototype selection and component quote for the resized build, with retained and new sections listed separately.
