Stem Spotlights vs Arm Lights for Exhibition Stands
Compare the structure before choosing a light
A rigid-stem spotlight and an articulated-arm light solve different positioning problems. “Stem” describes a support structure, not a standard specification or confirmation that a particular model is available. Choose according to the required head position, the mounting surface and the documented adjustment range.
Mounting geometry and reach
A rigid stem generally maintains a defined relationship between the mounting point and the head; aiming may depend on a separate head joint. An articulated arm may change the head position where its joints allow. Some products called arm lights have a straight, non-articulated support. Check the drawing and adjustment mechanism rather than relying on the product name.
Measure the mounting point, the horizontal reach and the distance to the graphic or product. Check whether the head can illuminate the target without obstructing sightlines. Stem height alone does not guarantee even lighting: beam angle, aiming range, output and spacing must suit the layout.
Frame, mount and base stability
Confirm the actual frame profile, panel thickness or tube dimensions and the fixture interface. Use a suitable load-bearing structure; fabric and unsupported panel surfaces are not substitutes for an approved mounting point. The frame, clamp and any base must support the chosen arrangement. Longer reach increases the turning effect on the mount. For a freestanding setup, assess base stability and tipping risk as well as fixture weight.
Power and venue checks
Verify the selected model’s input voltage, plug, driver requirements, cable routing and any approved linking limits. Do not assume that every fitting uses low voltage or shares the same certification. Obtain the event’s current electrical and installation rules and the model-specific documents before ordering.
Confirm a model for your stand
Compare documented LED display arm lights as an alternative structure. This collection link does not confirm rigid-stem stock or universal compatibility. Send photos and dimensions of the frame, mounting point, desired head position and illuminated area, together with quantity and destination, so the proposed model and mounting method can be checked before purchase.
