7W vs 12W/18W vs 13W vs 20W Edge-Lit LED Modules

Choose the module that fits the frame and optical layout, then calculate the electrical load. These four BOOTH LIGHTS product families illuminate SEG fabric lightboxes from the frame perimeter. Similar wattage does not mean the same dimensions, lens or connector.

Published specifications at a glance

Module Listed light output Dimensions Lens Standard connector
7W side-lit module 770 lm ±10% Confirm the selected mounting-hole version 9° × 50° standard 2-pin plug-in
12W/18W edge-lit module 12W: 1320 lm; 18W: 1980 lm 470 × 23 × 16 mm for both 9° × 50° 2-pin plug-in
13W edge-lit bar 1430 lm 360 × 23 × 16 mm 15° × 60° Molex 5557 / Mini-Fit Jr. family
20W rigid bar 2200 lm ±10% 470 × 24 × 16 mm 10° × 40° Molex 5557 / Mini-Fit Jr. family

These are product-page values, not measured brightness at the graphic. The 16 mm height includes the lens. The 7W module offers square or round fixing-hole options; 14° × 47° and 20° × 60° lenses are available by request. Confirm the ordered configuration against the current product drawing.

Fit and connectors come first

The 13W bar is shorter than the 12W/18W and 20W bars. The 12W and 18W versions have the same listed size, while the 20W bar is 1 mm wider. Measure the clear mounting channel, hole positions, corner hardware and cable space; do not assume a replacement fits because its wattage is close.

A connector-family name or pin count does not guarantee identical pinout, polarity or cable clearance. Compare the actual connections. References to MODULAP or another frame system describe an intended application; check the particular profile version.

Lens and layout determine visible uniformity

Higher lumen output can increase brightness, but it does not guarantee an evenly lit fabric. Internal width, frame depth, lens distribution, spacing, reflective surfaces and print transmission all affect the result. Test the selected module with the final graphic, then inspect the center, corners and bright bands along the edges. Use that test to decide whether modules belong on two or four sides and to set their spacing.

Calculate power and check connection limits

All four families require a compatible external DC24V constant-voltage power supply, which is not included. Multiply module wattage by quantity: ten 12W modules total 120W; ten 20W modules total 200W. Size the driver and wiring according to manufacturer guidance, including loading allowance, voltage drop and connector capacity.

The 7W product page lists a ceiling of eight compatible modules per run; the 13W page lists six bars. These are model-specific ceilings, not guaranteed quantities for every installation. Confirm the actual driver, cable and connector limits, and obtain the connection limit for the other selected models rather than copying a limit from another family.

Before placing the production order

  1. Confirm perimeter lighting and measure the frame’s internal dimensions.
  2. Match the module drawing, lens, fixing holes and connector to the profile.
  3. Choose the fixed color-temperature range for the actual products and graphic.
  4. Test a representative frame section and record the accepted layout.
  5. Verify total load, supply capacity, polarity and connected-run limits before power-up.
  6. For certification or venue approval, request documents covering the exact ordered configuration and check the venue’s requirements.

Compare the edge-lit LED bar collection or all LED lightbox modules. Pack quantities and included parts vary by product and selected variant.
