Use front lighting for opaque printed panels and ordinary fabric graphics. Use internal lighting only with a light box built for translucent backlit graphics. The word “fabric” alone does not tell you which method works: the print, material and frame construction all matter.
Choose the method before the fixture
- Front-lit graphics: aim external lights onto the visible face. Check coverage at the top, centre, bottom and edges.
- Backlit graphics: match the internal LED layout, light-box depth and diffuser to the actual printed material. An external spotlight cannot correct an uneven internal layout.
- Glossy panels or artwork: test reflected glare from the aisle and meeting positions before deciding the mounting angle.
An arm describes how a fixture reaches out from the frame; a spotlight describes its light distribution. These categories overlap. Compare actual beam angle, output and mounting geometry instead of assuming that every arm light is for general lighting and every spotlight is for graphics.
What the DIP spotlight specifications tell you
The Classic DIP LED Exhibition Spotlight uses 135 through-hole LEDs and is specified at 11W, 1,100 lm, CRI 90+, a 60° beam and DC12V. Its dimensions are 480 × 144 × 48 mm. Each fixture includes a matched 12V adapter and an ABS mounting adapter; confirm the mount fits your frame.
DIP describes the LED package and through-hole mounting, not a guarantee of better reliability or longer life than other LED designs. Likewise, lumens describe total output, not the brightness at every point on a graphic.
Test one panel before ordering the quantity
- Install a sample at the intended height and distance. Aim it at the graphic without shining into visitors’ eyes.
- Check small text, logo colours, dark areas and reflections from several viewing positions. Adjust aim and spacing before adding fixtures.
- Test neighbouring beams together. If the top is bright but the lower edge is dark, reconsider reach, angle or fixture distribution rather than increasing wattage alone.
Match colour temperature to the actual print and surrounding lighting. The DIP model has fixed ordering options of 3000–3500K, 4200–4700K or 6500–6700K; it does not switch colour on the fixture. CRI 90+ is useful specification information, but assess critical brand colours with the printed sample.
Compare exhibition LED lighting and the trade show lighting range after recording panel dimensions, frame profile, power location and the result of the sample test.
