Mimaki UV Academy introduces UV print applications. Mimaki’s own product guidance describes multilayer day-and-night graphics on clear media. This collection helps indoor lightbox makers assess the printed face in both viewing states before choosing internal LED modules.
Keep one print reference for both viewing states
Record the artwork, clear media and print-layer construction. Check the unlit appearance under representative ambient lighting, then inspect the same face with the proposed backlight.
Approve the illuminated state as a separate check
Use the intended LED layout and power supply in a representative assembled box. Record the accepted day and night appearances. If the graphic layers or lighting change, repeat both checks on the new sample.
Compare LED lightbox sources
- 20W rigid edge-lit bar: 470×24×16mm including lens, DC24V, 2200lm ±10% and 10°×40° optics.
- 12W dual-CCT rear-backlight bar: DC24V, 1320lm, 180° beam and 3-wire JST; select the CCT pair and separate control.
- 10W slim edge-lit bar: 360×23×16mm including lens, DC24V, 1100lm and 9°×50° optics.
Can a stronger white LED create a missing night image?
No. The printed layers determine the graphic effect; internal LEDs provide illumination. Confirm both physically. These are independent lightbox modules, not Mimaki printer parts or UV curing LEDs; equipment compatibility is not claimed.
Before ordering
Verify DC24V, total load, pinout and polarity; external power is separate. The dual-CCT bar also requires a compatible 3-wire switch or controller, not included. The featured slim 10W bar permits at most 6 per run after wiring checks; do not apply that limit to other models.
Compare all LED Modules below. Send box dimensions, face-media reference, day-and-night sample requirements and intended power supply to discuss candidates.
