Food and beverage is one of the most competitive categories at trade shows — and one of the most lighting-sensitive. CRI Requirements for Food and Beverage

  • Shelving units: Use 30–45° to concentrate light on each shelf level. Wide beam angles spill light onto the shelf frame and reduce contrast between products.
  • Backwall graphics and brand panels: Use 90–120° for even coverage across the full panel.

Avoiding Glare and Heat on Food Products

Two practical concerns specific to food and beverage booths:

  1. Glare on packaging: Glossy labels and glass bottles amplify direct light sources. Position lights at a 30–45° angle rather than directly overhead to minimize reflections that obscure label text and imagery.
  2. Heat from lighting: LED lights produce minimal heat compared to halogen, but positioning matters. Keep lights at least 30cm from fresh food products and avoid directing concentrated beams at temperature-sensitive items for extended periods.
