Trade Show Booth Light Setup & Technical FAQ
Trade Show Booth Lighting FAQ
Everything exhibitors ask before buying — answered honestly.
1. How bright are these trade show booth lights? Is it enough for my booth?
The fixed-CCT 25W 3250lm arm light lists 3,250 lm and a 120° beam. The 50W fixed-CCT silver model and 50W Tri-CCT model list 5,500 lm and a 60° beam. That is about 69% more luminous flux than 3,250 lm, rather than twice the output. Lumen output does not determine illuminated area on its own: mounting distance, beam angle, aiming, overlap and venue lighting also matter.
A 10×10 ft booth is approximately 3×3 m; a 10×20 ft booth is approximately 3×6 m. Use the lighting calculator as a planning starting point, then check the actual graphic and frame dimensions.
2. 25W vs 50W — which should I choose?
Compare the exact model rather than wattage alone:
- 25W fixed-CCT, 3,250 lm, 120°: a broad-beam starting point for graphic walls and standard inline displays. Its published link limit is up to 10 compatible fixtures.
- 50W fixed-CCT silver, 5,500 lm, 60°: higher output with a narrower beam and a published limit of up to 6 compatible fixtures.
- 50W Tri-CCT, 5,500 lm, 60°: switch between 3000K, 4500K and 6500K; its published limit is up to 10 compatible fixtures.
Published limits are model-specific maximums. Use compatible connectors and cables, respect the lowest-rated component and circuit capacity, and follow the current venue electrical plan. See the model comparison before selecting a configuration.
3. Are these lights allowed at trade show venues? Can I bring them into any convention center?
Venue acceptance depends on the selected model, show rules and electrical contractor. Some models carry UL, ETL, CE or UKCA documentation as listed on the product page. Compare that documentation with the current exhibitor manual before ordering.
4. Can I carry these lights on a plane?
Travel rules depend on the airline, route, baggage type and included components. Check packed dimensions and weight, protect loose parts, and confirm current carrier and security requirements before travel.
5. Is installation complicated? Do I need tools?
Installation and included hardware vary by model. For example, the 50W Tri-CCT listing includes one aluminum clamp and two aluminum sliding tabs; the 35W listing describes three mounting options. Do not assume every arm light contains the same four accessories. Check the exact product page’s “What’s Included” section and selected configuration.
Confirm clamp opening, frame depth, mounting thread and slot geometry before ordering. Separate accessories include dual M8 bolt-fix brackets and M8 sliding block brackets. Installation must follow the selected product’s instructions and venue requirements.
6. What’s the difference between the large and small aluminum clamp?
Both clamps fit round and square frames — the difference is size:
- Large Aluminum Clamp — fits frames up to 55mm (2.2") in diameter/depth. The go-to choice for most standard booth structures.
- Small Aluminum Clamp — fits frames up to 31mm (1.2") in diameter/depth. More compact, ideal for smaller-profile frames or tighter spaces.
If your frame is under 31mm, either clamp works — the small one gives a more compact fit. For frames between 31mm and 55mm, use the large clamp.
7. What if my frame is too thick for the clamp?
Choose hardware compatible with the actual frame profile. A bolt-fix bracket can be an alternative where a clamp does not fit, but available flat surface, hole spacing, fastener dimensions and load still need checking. A sliding block requires a compatible slot. Do not assume unlimited fit or that separate accessories are included with every light. Send a frame photo and measurements through our contact page for a compatibility check.
8. What’s the difference between fixed color temperature and 3-in-1 CCT?
Fixed color temperature lights come in one preset color (e.g., 3000K warm white or 6500K cool white) — you choose when ordering and it stays that way. 3-in-1 CCT (Tri-CCT) lights let you switch between warm white, daylight white, and cool white with a single button press at any time — no rewiring, no extra purchases.
- Fixed CCT — Best if your brand aesthetic is consistent across all shows and you always use the same color temperature.
- 3-in-1 CCT — Best if you exhibit at multiple shows with different products, or want flexibility to adapt on-site. One fixture handles everything.
9. Do LED trade show lights get hot? Is it safe near fabric booths?
LED lights generally run cooler than halogen or incandescent alternatives, and the aluminum housing helps dissipate heat. Surface temperature still depends on the model, ambient temperature and operating time. Keep the fixture uncovered, maintain the clearances required by the product instructions and venue, and allow it to cool before handling or packing.
10. Can these lights handle frequent shipping and repeated setup?
They are designed for repeated trade show setup and transport. The die-cast aluminum housing helps protect the fixture during normal handling, but lights should still be stored in padded cases and inspected after shipping. Warranty terms and UL, ETL, CE or UKCA documentation are model- and configuration-specific; check the exact product page or request the applicable documents before ordering.
11. Will these lights work for my booth size and type?
Our exhibition booth lighting range covers every booth format:
- 10x10 inline booth — 2–3 x 25W arm lights
- 10x20 inline booth — 4–6 x 25W arm lights
- Island booth (20x20+) — 4–6 x 50W linkable arm lights (5500lm; follow the connection limit for the exact model, plug and supply voltage)
- Pop-up / portable displays — MR16 5W portable spotlight
- Fabric lightbox displays — LED lightbox modules and edge-lit bars
If you’re unsure which light fits your booth, contact us with your booth dimensions and we’ll recommend the right setup.
12. Will the lighting make my booth look professional and premium?
Absolutely. Our lights feature CRI 90+ (Color Rendering Index), which means product colors appear accurate and vivid — not washed out or distorted under artificial light. The color temperature range (2700K–7000K depending on model) lets you match your brand aesthetic. High CRI exhibition lighting is the single biggest visual upgrade most booths can make — buyers notice immediately.
13. How do I avoid shadows in my trade show booth?
Use overlapping light from suitable directions and test the aim on the real graphic or product. Beam angles differ: the 25W 3250lm and 35W arm lights list 120°, while the 50W fixed-CCT silver and 50W Tri-CCT models list 60°. Narrower beams may need different spacing and mounting distances. Avoid glare toward visitors, respect heat-clearance instructions, and confirm cabling and electrical load for the layout.
14. How long will these lights last? What’s the warranty?
Rated life and warranty vary by model and operating conditions. Selected LED booth arm lights list a rated life of up to 50,000 hours, and selected models include a 3-year manufacturer warranty. UL, ETL, CE or UKCA documentation is model- and configuration-specific. Check the exact product page and request the documents required by your event organizer or venue before ordering.
