Booth Lighting FAQ
Trade Show Booth Lighting — Frequently Asked Questions
Everything exhibitors ask before buying — answered honestly.
Purchase Decision
1. How bright is this 25W trade show booth light? What booth size is it suitable for?
Our 25W LED display arm light delivers up to approximately 2,500–3,250 lumens. Thanks to a constant-current IC driver, brightness stays stable across all color temperature modes. Recommended for small to medium trade show booths, popup displays, retail display systems, and exhibition wall lighting.
2. How many lights do I need for a 10×10 ft trade show booth?
- 2 lights — Standard illumination
- 3 lights — Enhanced product visibility
- 4 lights — Premium booth presentation
Actual quantity may vary depending on booth height, graphics, and ambient venue lighting. For a 10×20 inline booth, plan for 4–6 units. Island booths (20×20+) benefit from 4–6 of our 50W linkable arm lights.
3. Should I choose 25W or 50W?
- 25W — Best for standard booth heights, portable display systems, and general exhibition applications. Travel-friendly, daisy-chain up to 10 units.
- 50W — Best for tall booth structures, large-format graphics, and high ambient lighting environments. Double the brightness, fewer units needed. Daisy-chain up to 6 units.
When in doubt, go 50W — more brightness always wins on the show floor.
4. Can lighting make my booth look more premium?
Yes. Professional booth lighting with CRI 90+ enhances product visibility, increases visual contrast, and creates a more engaging visitor experience. Colors appear accurate and vivid — not washed out under artificial hall lighting. It’s the single biggest visual upgrade most booths can make.
5. Why choose clamp-on display lights instead of traditional spotlights?
Clamp-mounted display lights offer fast installation, tool-free adjustment, reusability across events, space-saving design, and easy transport and storage — all critical advantages for exhibitors who move between shows.
6. What industries is this light suitable for?
Suitable for virtually all exhibition and commercial display applications: jewelry, retail, furniture, apparel, consumer electronics, printing and graphics, and corporate exhibitions.
Certification & Compliance
7. Are these lights allowed at U.S. trade show venues?
Yes. Our lights are UL and ETL listed — the certification required by all major U.S. convention centers including McCormick Place (Chicago), LVCC (Las Vegas), Javits Center (New York), and Orange County Convention Center. CE and UKCA certified for European and UK venues. No venue restrictions — if a booth light is allowed, ours qualifies.
8. Is this suitable for international exhibitions?
Yes. The fixture supports international exhibition applications. Please confirm local plug and voltage requirements before ordering. CE and UKCA certifications cover European and UK venues.
9. Will the light overheat during long operation?
No. The fixture incorporates an engineered aluminum thermal management structure for stable operation during extended exhibition hours. LED lights run significantly cooler than halogen alternatives and are safe near fabric backdrops and SEG displays.
10. How long can it operate continuously?
Designed for long exhibition schedules with recommended continuous operation of 12–18 hours per day. Rated LED lifetime is up to 50,000 hours — over 10 years of weekly trade shows — with a 3-year manufacturer warranty.
Installation & Compatibility
11. How do I install this trade show display light?
Attach the included aluminum clamp to the desired booth structure, slide the light fixture into position, and secure it. No tools required for most installations. Setup takes approximately 1–3 minutes per fixture. Removal follows the same process for fast breakdown between events.
12. Can I install it by myself?
Yes. The clamp-and-slide structure is designed for quick self-installation without professional electrical experience.
13. What mounting options are included? What frame sizes do they support?
Every arm light comes with four mounting options at no extra cost — choose the one that fits your frame after receiving your order:
- Large Aluminum Clamp — fits round and square frames up to 55mm (2.2") in diameter/depth. Works on Octanorm panels, truss, pipe-and-drape, and most standard booth structures.
- Small Aluminum Clamp — fits round and square frames up to 31mm (1.2") in diameter/depth. More compact — ideal for tighter setups or smaller-profile frames.
- Dual M8 Bolt-Fix Bracket — for frames too thick for the clamp. Screws directly onto the flat surface of the aluminum extrusion using M4 screws. No thickness limit, no T-slot required. View →
- M8 Sliding Block Bracket — for frames with a T-slot channel. Slides into the groove and locks in place — no drilling needed. View →
14. What if my SEG light box frame is too deep for the clamp?
If your frame is too thick for either clamp, use the included Dual M8 Bolt-Fix Bracket — it screws directly onto the flat surface of the aluminum extrusion with M4 screws and has no thickness limit. If your frame has a T-slot channel, use the included M8 Sliding Block Bracket instead. Both are included with every arm light at no extra cost.
15. What’s the difference between the large and small aluminum clamp?
Both clamps fit round and square frames — the difference is size:
- Large Aluminum Clamp — fits frames up to 55mm (2.2") in diameter/depth. The go-to choice for most standard booth structures.
- Small Aluminum Clamp — fits frames up to 31mm (1.2") in diameter/depth. More compact, ideal for smaller-profile frames or tighter spaces.
If your frame is under 31mm, either clamp works — the small one gives a more compact fit. For frames between 31mm and 55mm, use the large clamp.
16. Can I adjust the lighting angle and reposition after installation?
Yes. The fixture supports 359° horizontal rotation and full vertical tilt for optimized beam positioning and product highlighting. Repositioning requires no permanent modification to your booth structure.
17. Will installation damage my booth structure?
Under normal use, the mounting system is designed to provide secure attachment without damaging standard exhibition structures.
Lighting Performance
18. What does CRI 90+ mean and why does it matter?
CRI (Color Rendering Index) measures how accurately a light source reproduces object colors. CRI 90+ provides high color fidelity — products appear closer to their natural appearance. This is especially important for branding, printed graphics, and merchandise displays.
19. What does Triple CCT (3 color temperatures) mean?
Triple CCT allows one fixture to switch between three preset color temperatures using an integrated control switch — no rewiring, no extra purchases. This provides greater flexibility without replacing fixtures.
20. What color temperature is recommended for different industries?
- 3000K–3500K — Warm appearance suitable for hospitality, lifestyle, and premium environments.
- 4200K–4700K — Balanced neutral white suitable for exhibitions, offices, and general commercial displays. Best all-around choice for most booths.
- 6000K–6500K — Cool white suitable for precision display, jewelry, medical, and high-visibility environments.
21. How can I reduce shadows in my booth?
Use multiple fixtures from different angles to create more uniform illumination. Our arm lights feature a 120° wide beam angle combined with 359° rotation and full vertical tilt. For best results, position lights at 45° angles from the top corners of your display wall. Daisy-chain multiple units for even coverage across larger booths.
22. How can I attract more visitors to my booth with lighting?
Lighting is one of the strongest visual attention factors on a show floor. A bright, well-balanced booth combined with strong color design improves visibility within crowded exhibition environments. Neutral white lighting around 4500K combined with proper fixture positioning provides strong illumination with improved visual comfort and minimal glare.
Purchasing & Operations
23. Can multiple lights be connected together?
Yes. Many of our models support daisy-chain connection — up to 10 units for the 25W model and up to 6 units for the 50W model. Extension cables are available for compatible linked systems.
24. Can I carry these lights on a plane?
Yes. These lights are fully carry-on and checked baggage friendly. They contain no batteries, no magnets, no liquids, and no hazardous materials. Exhibitors regularly fly with our lights to shows across the US, Europe, and Asia without any issues.
25. Are spare parts and accessories available?
Selected accessories including mounting hardware and power cables are available separately. Logo customization is available for volume orders. Volume pricing and project quotations are available upon request.
26. What is the shipping lead time?
Most standard models are stocked and ready to ship. Typical delivery time is approximately 8–18 days after order confirmation depending on destination.
Product Comparison
27. Clamp-on Display Light vs Track Light — Which is better for trade shows?
Clamp-on lighting offers portability, quick setup, and reusable installation — ideal for exhibitors who move between events. Track systems are more suitable for permanent retail or showroom installations.
28. LED vs Halogen for exhibition lighting
LED provides higher energy efficiency, lower heat output, longer service life (50,000 hours vs ~2,000 hours for halogen), and stronger visual performance.
29. Fixed CCT vs Multi-CCT — which should I choose?
- Fixed CCT — Best if your brand aesthetic is consistent across all shows and you always use the same color temperature.
- Multi-CCT — Best if you exhibit at multiple shows with different products, or want flexibility to adapt on-site. One fixture handles everything.
30. CRI 80 vs CRI 90 — does it make a difference?
Yes. Higher CRI generally produces more accurate color rendering and improved presentation quality. For trade show environments where product appearance directly influences buyer decisions, CRI 90+ is the recommended standard.
31. Clamp-mounted vs Floor Spotlights
Clamp-mounted fixtures preserve floor space, simplify installation, and keep your booth layout clean. Floor spotlights require floor space and can create tripping hazards in busy exhibition environments.
32. Why are more exhibition booths switching to LED?
LED technology offers improved efficiency, longer lifetime, reduced maintenance, lower heat output, and stronger visual performance — making it the clear choice for professional exhibitors who need reliable, repeatable results across multiple shows.
