Spicers Canada hosts branch open houses for print and graphics professionals, including sign and display demonstrations. For backlit sign builders comparing components around these events, this collection focuses on media change records: knowing which printed film or textile was used when a lightbox lighting arrangement was approved.
Give the approved backlit media a traceable reference
Record the media name, supplier reference, roll or batch identifier, print process and final assembly reference together. Keep a labelled offcut with the approval record. A generic note such as “backlit fabric” does not identify the tested material, coating or print treatment well enough to support a later repeat order.
Make media substitutions trigger a new assembly check
When the roll reference, media specification or print treatment changes, record the change beside the existing approval and test the proposed replacement in a representative lightbox. Keep the original result separate from the new result. Compare the printed face with the intended LED layout and viewing conditions before accepting the substitution for production.

- 20W rigid edge-lit bar: 470×24×16mm including lens, DC24V, 2200lm ±10% and 10°×40° optics.
- 12W dual-CCT rear-backlight bar: DC24V, 1320lm, 180° beam and 3-wire JST; select the CCT pair and separate control.
- 10W slim edge-lit bar: 360×23×16mm including lens, DC24V, 1100lm and 9°×50° optics.
Does an approved LED layout mean any backlit media will work?
No. The approval belongs to the tested combination of media, print and assembled lighting. A similarly named film or textile can require a fresh trial. Check media instructions and the current LED product specifications; do not treat a previous approval as a universal compatibility statement.
Before ordering
Verify DC24V, total load, pinout and polarity; external power is separate. The dual-CCT bar also requires a compatible 3-wire switch or controller, not included. The featured slim 10W bar permits at most 6 per run after wiring checks; do not apply that limit to other models.
Explore all LED Modules below. Send the lightbox depth, approved media reference, proposed material change and intended power arrangement to discuss candidates and confirm current specifications before purchase.
