Choose the textile before increasing LED power
The organizer separates Screen Print India into Textile and Industrial; its Textile information includes soft signage. This guide addresses fabric lightboxes, not garment printing or the Industrial zone within Media Expo. Test the finished fabric in its intended frame with DC24V LED bars.
Compare LED Modules for your test frame
- DC24V linkable edge-lit bars: 212mm/9W, 319mm/14W or 480mm/20W for modular lightbox builds.
- 12W/18W DC24V MODULAP lightbox module: 470mm edge-lighting format for compatible fabric frames; verify the connector and fit.
- 20W DC24V rigid lightbox bar: 470mm, 2200lm ±10%, for tested indoor SEG and illuminated-sign layouts.
- 7W DC24V compact lightbox bar: 200mm, 770lm, 200×23×16mm body for short frame sections. Check the Molex 5557 / Mini-Fit Jr. connector family, mating pinout and fit before replacement.
Can I illuminate any printed textile?
No. Ask the media supplier whether it is intended for backlit use. A black backing can block light; an open weave may show points of light. More LED power does not change an opaque fabric into a translucent graphic.
Why does the weave show when the LEDs are on?
Compare the same printed sample and mounting tension at the intended viewing distance. Check light-to-fabric spacing and any diffuser before changing bars; do not judge a textile only from its unlit appearance.
What should I send for a lightbox LED quotation?
Send the fabric reference, a lit and unlit sample photo, frame opening and depth, bar mounting positions, and existing driver and connector details. Confirm polarity and DC24V supply; trial the approved assembly before ordering repeated sets.
