HP’s webinar catalogue includes white-ink application sessions. Its own print guidance identifies backlit applications on translucent and transparent materials. This collection helps lightbox makers retain the printed white-layer reference when comparing internal LED sources.
Record what the white layer represents in the print
Ask the print supplier to identify the white-layer coverage and chosen print mode on the reference sample. Retain that information with the material and artwork identifiers; a white graphic layer is a print decision, not an LED colour-temperature setting.
Keep lighting fixed when comparing white-layer trials
Compare the labelled prints using the same representative box, LED arrangement and power supply. Record the accepted print and lighting combination. If the white-layer construction changes, recheck the assembled result before repeating the order.
Compare LED lightbox sources
- 20W rigid edge-lit bar: 470×24×16mm including lens, DC24V, 2200lm ±10% and 10°×40° optics.
- 12W dual-CCT rear-backlight bar: DC24V, 1320lm, 180° beam and 3-wire JST; select the CCT pair and separate control.
- 10W slim edge-lit bar: 360×23×16mm including lens, DC24V, 1100lm and 9°×50° optics.
Which LED bars should I choose for white-ink backlit graphics?
Compare edge-lit and rear-backlight bars using the box depth and printed material. Test the selected model behind your accepted white-layer print. Printed white ink is separate from LED colour temperature. These are independent lightbox LEDs, not HP printer parts.
Before ordering
Verify DC24V, total load, pinout and polarity; external power is separate. The dual-CCT bar also requires a compatible 3-wire switch or controller, not included. The featured slim 10W bar permits at most 6 per run after wiring checks; do not apply that limit to other models.
Compare all LED Modules below. Send box depth, face-material reference, white-layer sample notes and intended supply to discuss candidates.
