Durst offers P5 live demonstrations and describes backlit fabrics for lightboxes. This independent selection helps fabric-display builders plan the lighting behind their own finished graphics. Confirm your chosen print application with the demonstration provider.
Start from the finished illuminated frame
Use the internal opening, frame depth and finished fabric dimensions for the LED plan. Record the direction of each bar and any central supports. Assess the complete printed face in its tensioned frame before approving production quantities.
Choose the light source for the display
- DC24V linkable edge-lit bars: 212mm/9W, 319mm/14W or 480mm/20W for modular lightbox builds.
- 12W/18W DC24V MODULAP lightbox module: 470mm edge-lighting format for compatible fabric frames; verify the connector and fit.
- 20W DC24V rigid lightbox bar: 470mm, 2200lm ±10%, for tested indoor SEG and illuminated-sign layouts.
- 7W DC24V compact lightbox bar: 200mm, 770lm, 200×23×16mm body for short frame sections. Check the Molex 5557 / Mini-Fit Jr. connector family, mating pinout and fit before replacement.
Does the printer width determine my lightbox size?
No. The printer’s media width and the finished illuminated opening are different measurements. Allow for the graphic’s finishing and frame construction. Choose 470mm bars or 200mm compact bars from the actual mounting space, not from the printer model name.
Can one layout serve both single-sided and double-sided fabric lightboxes?
Do not assume it can. Test both printed faces separately with the actual cabinet depth and supports. Bar position, beam direction and clearance must suit each face. A successful single-sided sample does not establish even illumination on the opposite side.
Will adding LED bars remove every visible line in the graphic?
First separate an illumination band from a fabric seam, crease or finishing line. Inspect the printed face unlit and then in the intended LED layout. Changing bar positions may address a light band; it does not repair a seam or print defect. Send face photos and frame drawings for a component quotation.
Before ordering
LED Modules illuminate a printed face inside a lightbox; they are not complete signs. Confirm connector polarity, driver capacity, thermal conditions and connection limits. Check the selected bar length and product pack quantity. Do not assume outdoor or moisture suitability from a retrofit application.
Send cabinet photos, internal dimensions, frame drawings, the existing driver specification and proposed product links through our contact page to discuss a trial selection.
