Match the bar, supply and controller
Start with the selected bar’s voltage, rated watts, documented dimming behaviour and connector pinout. Keep the lightbox face, depth and layout constant when testing brightness control. A DC24V label alone does not establish controller compatibility.
Choose the light source for the display
- DC24V linkable edge-lit bars: 212mm/9W, 319mm/14W or 480mm/20W for modular lightbox builds.
- 12W/18W DC24V MODULAP lightbox module: 470mm edge-lighting format for compatible fabric frames; verify the connector and fit.
- 20W DC24V rigid lightbox bar: 470mm, 2200lm ±10%, for tested indoor SEG and illuminated-sign layouts.
- 7W DC24V compact lightbox bar: 200mm, 770lm, 200×23×16mm body for short frame sections. Check the Molex 5557 / Mini-Fit Jr. connector family, mating pinout and fit before replacement.
Will any smart controller dim these lightbox bars?
No. Check the control method and output against the exact model. The 12W/18W MODULAP module documents reduced brightness to about 50%, then switches off below that point; do not specify it as a smooth dim-to-zero solution. Test the complete circuit before ordering production quantities.
Does a five-bar connection limit size the power supply?
No. The featured linkable family permits up to five compatible bars per run. Calculate total rated watts across all runs, then confirm driver capacity, cable and connector ratings, polarity and voltage drop. A controller’s channel limit must also suit the connected load.
Can a controller turn a fixed-white bar into colour-changing lighting?
No. Choose the required fixed CCT before ordering these white-light bars. For colour-changing projects, select a product documented for that function and verify its wiring and controller. Bars, a compatible external supply and any control equipment are separate purchasing decisions.
