Caldera’s PrintLab includes a Backlit Printing replay. This independent selection helps print and sign shops compare the LED light source behind their finished graphics. Choose the bar model and white-light range before approving a production lightbox.
Keep the intended display light consistent
Compare the same printed face with the same frame depth, bar positions and ambient light. When the lighting specification changes, reassess the finished graphic with your print provider. Our LED bars supply display illumination; they are not a colour-measurement instrument or RIP profile.
Choose the light source for the display
- DC24V linkable edge-lit bars: 212mm/9W, 319mm/14W or 480mm/20W for modular lightbox builds.
- 12W/18W DC24V MODULAP lightbox module: 470mm edge-lighting format for compatible fabric frames; verify the connector and fit.
- 20W DC24V rigid lightbox bar: 470mm, 2200lm ±10%, for tested indoor SEG and illuminated-sign layouts.
- 7W DC24V compact lightbox bar: 200mm, 770lm, 200×23×16mm body for short frame sections. Check the Molex 5557 / Mini-Fit Jr. connector family, mating pinout and fit before replacement.
Is a 6500K LED module automatically a calibrated D65 light source?
No. D65 specifies a spectral distribution, not just a colour-temperature label. The featured commercial bars have published CCT ranges; a cool-white option is not evidence of calibrated D65 conformity. For a controlled proofing requirement, request the required measurement and source specification separately. CIE · IES
Which cool-white lightbox bar should I request?
The 20W rigid, 12W/18W MODULAP and 7W compact bars list 6500–7000K options; the linkable family lists 6000–7200K. Request the exact model and fixed range used in your accepted sample. Do not treat those ranges as identical or mix replacements by wattage alone.
Will a higher-wattage bar correct a printed colour mismatch?
Not necessarily. Compare colour appearance separately from brightness and visible light bands. Keep the approved model, CCT, print material and layout consistent. Send a sample reference, internal dimensions and current LED specifications for a component quotation; print-profile adjustment remains with your print provider.
Before ordering
LED Modules illuminate a printed face inside a lightbox; they are not complete signs. Confirm connector polarity, driver capacity, thermal conditions and connection limits. Check the selected bar length and product pack quantity. Do not assume outdoor or moisture suitability from a retrofit application.
Send cabinet photos, internal dimensions, frame drawings, the existing driver specification and proposed product links through our contact page to discuss a trial selection.
