3CCT, or Tri-CCT, means three selectable correlated colour temperatures in one fixture. CCT is expressed in kelvin (K) and describes the warmer or cooler appearance of white light. The three values and the selection method depend on the model; “switchable CCT” can also refer to products with a different number of settings.
Three settings are not continuous tuning
Fixed-CCT lighting has one specified colour temperature; dual-CCT has two choices; 3CCT has three. These counts do not establish reliability, colour accuracy or dimming capability. Tunable white allows adjustment over a specified range using compatible controls. Dim-to-warm changes towards a warmer colour as brightness is reduced, rather than providing independent colour selection. A fixture may use several LED channels or combinations, but a particular IC design, switching time or control arrangement cannot be inferred from “3CCT” alone.
A current BOOTH LIGHTS example
The current 25W Tri-CCT LED booth light lists a built-in button selecting 3000K, 4500K or 6000K. Its published specification is 2500lm, CRI90+ and a 120° beam. The page states that it is not continuously tunable and does not state a dimming function. These are specifications for this model, not all 3CCT lights. The listed lumen figure is not separate proof of identical output in each mode.
Check output and operation by mode
Ask for mode-specific wattage, lumens and colour-rendering information if those values are important to the project. Equal nominal power or constant-current control does not by itself establish equal lumens. Follow the fixture instructions for selection, including whether power must be disconnected on models with installation switches. Check the setting after a power cycle if repeatability matters; do not assume mode memory. Do not add a dimmer unless the exact fixture and control combination is supported.
Choose and verify the setting on the display
Try each available setting with the actual graphic, product and hall lighting. For this example, 3000K appears warmer, 4500K more neutral and 6000K cooler; none automatically guarantees daylight reproduction, better detail or accurate product colours. Recheck coverage, glare and camera recordings after choosing the setting, and record it for setup staff. Three presets may simplify reuse where they suit the job, but cannot match every venue or replace mounting and electrical planning.
Before installation, confirm the exact model label, variant, plug and event requirements. A colour-temperature feature is not electrical approval. Keep the verified operating instructions and final layout with the kit.
