Las Vegas Trade Show Lighting Guide: How to Light Your Booth at CES, SEMA & More

Las Vegas Trade Show Lighting Guide: How to Light Your Booth at CES, SEMA & More

Why Las Vegas Trade Show Lighting Is Different

Las Vegas is home to some of the world's largest trade shows — CES at the Las Vegas Convention Center, SEMA at the Las Vegas Convention Center, NAB Show, and dozens more. With massive exhibit halls, high ceilings, and intense competition for attention, your booth lighting needs to work harder than anywhere else.

The good news: the right LED booth lights can make a 10×10 inline booth look as polished as a 20×20 island exhibit — if you choose correctly.

Las Vegas Venue Electrical Requirements

All major Las Vegas venues — including the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), Mandalay Bay Convention Center, and the Venetian Expo — require ETL or UL listed lighting equipment. Non-certified lights will be flagged by show electricians and may be removed from your booth.

Key requirements to know:

  • All lighting must be ETL/UL listed for US venues
  • Standard booth power is 5A–20A at 120V (varies by show)
  • Extension cords must be grounded (3-prong)
  • Overhead rigging requires show-provided services — use clamp-on lights instead

All BOOTH LIGHTS products are ETL/UL listed and ready for any Las Vegas venue.

How Many Lights Do You Need?

A simple rule of thumb for Las Vegas exhibit halls:

  • 10×10 booth: 2–3 × 25W arm lights (3,250lm each)
  • 10×20 booth: 4–6 × 25W arm lights, or 2–3 × 50W arm lights
  • 20×20 island booth: 6–10 × 25W linkable arm lights from 2–3 outlets

For island booths, our daisy-chain linkable lights let you connect up to 10 units from a single outlet — dramatically reducing your electrical order cost at the show.

Best LED Booth Lights for Las Vegas Trade Shows

25W LED Arm Light – Best for 10×10 Inline Booths

Our 25W clamp-on arm light delivers 3,250lm of CRI90+ light — enough to illuminate a full 10×10 booth panel with two units. Clamps onto any standard octanorm or pipe-and-drape frame in seconds, no tools required.

50W Linkable LED Arm Light – Best for Island Exhibits

At 5,500lm per unit, the 50W arm light is built for large exhibits where you need maximum brightness. Daisy-chain up to 6 units from one outlet.

21W LED Floodlight – Best for Pop-up & Fabric Displays

If you're using a pop-up display or fabric backdrop at a Las Vegas show, the 21W floodlight with 120° wide beam provides even, hotspot-free illumination across the entire surface.

Top Las Vegas Trade Shows & Lighting Tips

CES (January) – Las Vegas Convention Center

CES is one of the most competitive exhibit environments in the world. With thousands of booths competing for attention, bright, focused lighting is essential. Use 25W–35W arm lights aimed at your key product displays. CRI90+ ensures product colors look accurate under the hall's mixed lighting.

SEMA Show (November) – Las Vegas Convention Center

SEMA's automotive aftermarket exhibits often feature dramatic, high-contrast lighting. Consider our 35W ultra-bright arm light (3,500lm) for spotlighting hero products, paired with linkable 25W lights for general booth illumination.

NAB Show (April) – Las Vegas Convention Center

Broadcast and media exhibits at NAB require flicker-free lighting for on-booth video production. All BOOTH LIGHTS products are flicker-free at 60Hz — safe for cameras and on-site demos.
