Perimeter lighting mounts LED modules along a lightbox frame and directs light inward across the graphic. It can suit SEG fabric lightboxes, trade show displays, retail advertising and custom illuminated signs. Direct backlighting places LEDs behind the face instead; choose the layout for the frame and optical requirements.
Housing and heat transfer
An aluminum housing can organize the installation, protect the board and provide a path for heat transfer. Its benefit depends on thermal contact, available surface area, ventilation and operating temperature. It does not by itself guarantee longer life or a brighter, more uniform face.
Avoid uneven illumination
Bright edges, a dark center, hotspots, uneven corners and frame shadows are layout issues. Check beam direction, lens distribution, module spacing, box depth and the real graphic's transmission. More watts or a wider lens alone may not fix them. Prototype the actual frame and printed fabric.
Measure the frame and wire route
Measure usable internal dimensions, channel size, module clearance and cable route before ordering. Match the bar length to the available space while allowing for connectors and assembly. Confirm the wire-exit side before ordering; a wrong exit can complicate routing.
Current module options
The current aluminum-profile edge-lit LED module uses DC24V, a 14° × 47° asymmetric lens and a 40.7 × 17mm profile. Color-temperature choices are 3200K, 4500K and 6500K. Length, nominal power and published output are paired as listed below, per module.
| Length | Power | Output |
|---|---|---|
| 574mm | 22W | 2800lm |
| 729mm | 25W | 2800lm |
| 812mm | 25W | 2800lm |
| 876mm | 32W | 3200lm |
| 964mm | 32W | 3200lm |
Power and wiring
The standard lead is 32cm and exits at the left end on the bottom side. An external DC24V driver is required and is not included. Sum the selected modules' loads and size the driver, cables and connectors with suitable operating margin, accounting for polarity and voltage drop.
Final selection
Choose exposed strips or housed modules by mounting compatibility, mechanical protection, thermal design and measured optical performance. Test brightness and uniformity on the complete display before production; neither construction guarantees the result.
