The right booth-light color temperature depends less on the industry label and more on what visitors actually see: printed whites, brand colors, product finishes and the surrounding booth materials.
Starting ranges

Printed fabric and graphic panels
Start with the white areas of the artwork. If they look cream-colored, the selected light may be too warm for that graphic. If skin tones, reds or wood finishes look cold, the selected range may be too cool. High CRI improves color rendering, but it does not cancel the visual effect of color temperature.
Wood, leather and interior products
Warm materials often respond well to 3000K–3500K, particularly when the booth is designed to feel residential or hospitality-focused. Always test printed brand colors beside the physical material; a setting that improves the product can change the appearance of the backwall graphic.
Glossy metal, machinery and technology
Cooler settings can make white panels, silver finishes and precision products look crisp, but glare still depends on fixture position and beam angle. Do not use a cooler setting to compensate for poor aiming. Adjust reflections from visitor height before changing CCT.
Food, cosmetics and color-critical products
Use a high-CRI fixture and compare the product under the complete booth setup. Packaging, product surface and printed graphics may each react differently. A balanced 4200K–4700K range is often a practical test point, not a universal rule.
When to use a switchable fixture
If one lighting inventory serves multiple brands or the final graphic is not available when lights are ordered, a Tri-CCT fixture lets the installer compare three settings after setup. The 50W Tri-CCT LED Trade Show Light switches between 3000K, 4500K and 6500K without an external controller.
Final on-site check
- Install the real graphics and products.
- View the booth from the aisle, not only from inside.
- Compare printed whites, brand colors and skin tones.
- Check reflective materials for glare separately from CCT.
- Use the same selected setting across fixtures intended to illuminate one continuous graphic.
