1. Installation and surface restrictions

Suitable for mounting on normally combustible surfaces
Older luminaires may carry an F-in-triangle family of marks relating to mounting on normally combustible surfaces. Current product requirements and documentation should always take priority because marking practice has changed over time.
Not suitable for mounting on combustible surfaces
This warning means the luminaire must not be mounted directly on the indicated combustible surface. Related versions distinguish surface-mounted and recessed installation. In exhibition work, that can affect mounting on timber, MDF, fabric-covered panels, plastic, or composite booth structures.
Do not cover with thermal insulation

2. Grounding and electrical protection classes

Protective earth
The protective-earth symbol identifies a terminal that must be connected to the protective grounding conductor for safety. Never remove or bypass that connection simply because the fixture still turns on.
Functional earth
Functional earth is used for operation, electromagnetic compatibility, or another functional purpose. It is not automatically equivalent to protective earth.
Class II — double or reinforced insulation
The square-within-a-square symbol identifies Class II equipment. Protection against electric shock is provided by double or reinforced insulation, so the equipment does not rely on a protective-earth connection in the same way as Class I equipment.
Class III — SELV supplied equipment

Isolating transformer
An isolating transformer provides electrical separation between input and output windings. The symbol does not by itself state the output voltage or load capacity.
Safety isolating transformer
A safety isolating transformer supplies a SELV circuit and is constructed to the applicable safety requirements. Confirm the rated input, output, maximum load, ambient temperature, and compatible dimming or control method.
Fuse

Do not use a cold-beam lamp

CE marking
CE is a European conformity marking for products covered by applicable EU legislation. It represents the manufacturer's declaration that the product meets the applicable requirements. Green Dot and recycling symbols
