Mining, energy and industrial booths need light for both large machines and small technical details. Divide the display into equipment, graphics, screens and meeting zones. Check surfaces from the visitor's viewing positions, rather than choosing fixtures from floor area or watts alone.

Industrial lighting challenges
Large equipment can shade itself, while pumps, sensors and machined parts need clear detail without harsh reflections. Test from several directions and use the real surface finishes. CRI90+ can be a useful comparison target, but CRI is an index, not a percentage guarantee of color accuracy. Good lighting supports inspection and reading; it cannot promise visitor numbers or sales.
Choose optics by task
| Display area | Example light | What to test |
|---|---|---|
| Tabletop components and sensors | 21W / 25W | Check detail visibility, reflections and tabletop shadows |
| Pumps and compressors | 35W 120° / 50W 60° | Test equipment height, shadowing and beam overlap |
| Large machines and vehicles | 50W 5500lm | Test several angles; choose structural mounting height rather than maximum height |
| Backwall graphics | 35W 120° / 50W 60° | Check the full graphic for uniformity and glare |
| Meeting area | 21W 2100lm | Keep faces and notes readable without unnecessary glare |
| Screen surroundings | 16W 1600lm | Keep reflected light off the screen from visitor positions |
Color temperature and CRI
Neutral white around 4000–5000K can be a test starting point. Choose the actual available CCT variant using the product, printed colors and surrounding hall light. 6000K describes a cooler appearance, not automatically higher output; 3000K is not inherently unsuitable for metal. Compare measured illumination, spectrum and actual samples.
Keep screens readable
Aim lights so their reflections miss normal viewing positions and useful light stays off the display face. Side mounting can help in some layouts, but is not universally better than overhead mounting. A 16W fixture can still cause glare: optics, distance and aim matter more than its label. Test the actual screen with its intended content and maintain separate equipment lighting.
Plan the booth by zones
| Booth layout | Planning priority |
|---|---|
| 10×10 ft component display | plan tabletop light and the graphic wall separately |
| 10×20 ft equipment and screen | separate equipment, screen and meeting zones |
| 20×20 ft island | check every viewing side and structural fixing position |
| 20×40 ft or larger | map circuits, outlet locations and maintenance access |
| Outdoor or tent | first confirm weather rating, mounting approval and electrical provision |
Current product references
| Product | Output / beam | Connection |
|---|---|---|
| 50W silver arm light | 5500lm / 60° | Up to 6 compatible units per specified run, subject to electrical limits |
| 35W multi-mount arm light | 3500lm / 120° | Up to 6 compatible units per specified run, subject to electrical limits |
| 16W panel spotlight | 1600lm / 60° / DC24V | Standalone; one compatible power connection per light |
| 21W independent arm light | 2100lm / 120° | Standalone; one compatible power connection per light |
All four references use a fixed CCT chosen when ordering; confirm the selected option before purchase.
Power, mounting and venue documents
Use the actual input ratings for the lighting, screens, demonstration equipment and other loads. The published 50W configuration allows up to six compatible units per run, a nominal 300W light load; the 35W configuration also lists up to six. Lower cable, connector, circuit or venue limits prevail. The linked 21W 2100lm and 16W models operate independently and must not be daisy-chained; the 16W head uses its matching DC24V adapter. Plan outlet positions and distribution with the event's electrical provider.
Obtain documents for the exact model, variant, destination and event edition. A claimed ETL/UL listing should be matched to the applicable model in the official directory. CE is a manufacturer's conformity marking supported by the EU declaration and technical file, not a blanket venue admission guarantee. Confirm allowed fixings, structural load, installation height, clearances, plug, voltage, frequency and cable routes. Use the official Hannover 2027 rules and OTC 2027 exhibitor entry point linked below.
Outdoor and tent displays
Do not assume these display lights suit exposed weather because their input range is wide. Check the required environmental rating for the entire fixture, driver and connections, the tent structure's permitted mounting load and the organizer's approval. Select a suitable configuration before proposing outdoor or semi-outdoor use.
Frequently asked questions
Which color temperature should I use?
Test actual materials and available CCT variants with the hall light. 4000–5000K can be a starting point, but neither 5000K nor a cooler appearance guarantees accurate finishes or higher brightness.
How do I light a large machine or mining vehicle?
Create overlapping coverage from approved mounting positions and check self-shadowing, glare and details. The 50W 5500lm model is one candidate; there is no universal six-to-eight-light or three-to-four-meter rule.
How do I keep screens readable?
Aim away from the screen's reflection paths and test from visitor positions. A lower-power fixture can help illuminate surroundings, but does not by itself prevent washout.
Does an ETL claim guarantee acceptance at OTC?
No. Ask for current documents for the exact model and consult the current OTC exhibitor instructions and electrical provider. This article does not claim all BOOTH LIGHTS fixtures are accepted at every show.
How many power drops does a large Hannover booth need?
Calculate actual loads and map outlet positions with the official electrical provider. Lighting counts alone cannot determine power drops; include screens, machinery, circuit limits and the permitted linking configuration.
