Start with what visitors need to see: a graphic, product, demonstration or meeting area. Then check the mounting structure and available power. Booth dimensions alone cannot determine the lamp type or quantity, and a higher lumen figure does not guarantee better coverage.
Choose the lighting method
- Opaque graphics and fabric walls: use external front lighting, checking top-to-bottom and edge coverage.
- Translucent light-box graphics: use internal LED lighting designed for the box depth and printed material. An external graphic lamp is a different system.
- Products and artwork: test direction, shadows and reflections so important detail is visible from the aisle.
- Screens and meeting areas: light the surroundings without directing the beam into screens or seated viewers’ eyes.
“Arm”, “spotlight” and “linear” are not exclusive categories. An arm describes reach, a spotlight describes distribution, and a linear head describes shape. Compare the actual specifications and test result.

These figures compare fixtures, not illumination at every point on your display. Confirm frame dimensions, gripping surfaces, load limits and the exact mount before ordering. Similar-looking power connectors do not make adapters interchangeable.
Use a sample to decide quantity and colour
- Install one sample at the intended height and distance using the real graphic or product.
- Check the aisle, corners and seating positions. Look for dark edges, bright overlap, reflections and cables in circulation space.
- Test neighbouring lamps together and record spacing and aim. Add fixtures only where the test shows a need.
- Compare the chosen fixed colour-temperature version against brand colours and ambient light. Confirm CCT options for the exact model; do not assume a colour switch.
For a 10 × 10 ft booth, two different backwalls can need different layouts. Send panel width and height, material, frame profile, mounting height and power location rather than asking for a lamp count from floor area alone. Check the current event’s electrical requirements and order the appropriate regional plug.
