Jewelry trade show lighting should help visitors inspect color, surface finish and reflections without creating distracting glare. There is no single CRI, color temperature or beam angle that is automatically best for every diamond, gemstone, metal and display case. Start with accurate product specifications, then test the actual pieces and booth materials together.

For color-critical displays, request current specifications and test the exact fixture with the merchandise before committing to a full layout.

Choosing Color Temperature

Warm light can emphasize yellow gold and warm-toned materials. Neutral light can provide a balanced presentation across mixed metals and graphics. Cooler light can create a crisp appearance for silver-toned metals or selected display designs. These are visual tendencies, not universal rules.

If the collection contains mixed metals and stones, a switchable Tri-CCT fixture can help compare settings during setup. A fixed-CCT model is suitable when the preferred appearance is already known and needs to remain consistent.

Beam, Sparkle and Glare

Directional light can produce stronger highlights on faceted pieces, while broader light can cover trays, graphics and cases. A narrow beam is not automatically better: it can create harsh reflections or leave adjacent pieces dark. A wide beam can still support jewelry presentation when fixture placement and case lighting are planned together.

  • Aim fixtures from more than one direction when one angle produces heavy shadows.
  • Avoid placing a bright reflection directly in the normal visitor viewing position.
