Portable booth lighting is not defined by one wattage or one booth size. A useful travel setup must fit the actual display, pack safely, use compatible power and mounting parts, and reproduce the intended coverage after repeated setup. Compare the complete kit rather than choosing from a fixed size chart.
What makes booth lighting portable?
Check packed length, weight, folding or removable joints, protection for the lamp head, and whether clamps, drivers and cables can be packed as matched sets. Use the current product dimensions; “portable” does not guarantee carry-on eligibility.
Choose the fixture type by the display
Arm lights can project light onto graphics and products from a frame or panel. Smaller clip lights can suit compact banners or accent zones. LED modules and bars illuminate compatible lightboxes from inside. These applications can overlap, so choose by mounting position and optical result.
Do not assign wattage to booth size
A compact stand can need higher output when the fixture is far from the graphic or the hall is bright. A larger stand can use lower-power fixtures with closer, even spacing. Compare verified lumens, beam angle, distance, glare, CRI and color temperature for the exact model.
Confirm mounting compatibility
Measure panel, tube, extrusion, track or lightbox profile. Verify clamp range, adapter, plate or slider, attachment strength, head clearance and aiming range. Pack the exact hardware for each position and label it.
Plan power for the destination
Check input voltage, regional plug, driver output, connector and cable length. A travel adapter changes plug shape but not voltage. Some models link and others are standalone; connect only explicitly compatible units within current quantity and total-load limits.
Pack for repeated use
Protect lenses, LED panels, joints and connectors from impact. Keep matched drivers and cables with each fixture, carry spares for user-replaceable items, and use a layout diagram so every component returns to the correct position.
Check carrier and event rules
Baggage, battery, tool and electrical rules vary by carrier, route, venue and event. Verify the actual packed components and current exhibitor manual. Certification marks and supporting documents also vary by model and market.
Test before departure
Build one complete lighting run with the real display. Confirm all parts are included, the mounting is secure, the beam reaches the target without glare, and the power setup remains within published limits. Recheck after installation at the venue.
