“Plug and play” exhibition lighting should mean that the selected fixture, mounting hardware, driver and cable are designed to work together with minimal on-site assembly. It does not mean that every light fits every booth, voltage, connector or venue. Check the complete system before shipping.
What plug and play should include
A practical kit normally has a compatible lamp head and arm, the correct clamp or mounting part, a matched driver or power supply, and the required power cable. Product bundles differ, so confirm the current included-components list rather than relying on the phrase alone.
Check the mounting point first
Measure panel, tube, extrusion, light-box track or mounting plate. Confirm clamp opening, surface strength, adapter requirements, head clearance and aiming range. Tool-free hardware is only convenient when it fits the actual structure securely.
Verify voltage, plug and connector
Input voltage, regional plug, driver output and connector type must match the exact model and destination. A plug adapter changes the physical plug but does not change voltage or guarantee compatibility. Use the specified cable and power supply.
Treat linking as a model-specific feature
Some exhibition lights include pass-through or linkable connectors; others are standalone. Never assume a connector that looks similar has the same polarity, voltage or current capacity. Link only explicitly compatible units within published quantity and total-load limits.
Plan a repeatable setup sequence
Label each fixture, cable and mounting position. Pack matched components together and use a simple layout drawing. On site, attach the approved hardware, connect power with the supply switched off, aim the fixture and then test each run.
Portable does not mean unrestricted travel
Check packed length, weight, fragile parts and the current carrier rules for the actual components. Protect joints, lamp heads and connectors. Batteries, unusual power supplies or tools may be subject to different transport requirements.
Confirm event requirements
Certification marks and supporting documents vary by model, market and event. Check the exact fixture and power supply against the current exhibitor manual, venue rules and electrical contractor requirements before arrival.
Test the complete kit
Assemble one full lighting run before the show. Confirm that every clamp, adapter, cable and driver is present, that the lights operate without flicker or intermittent connections, and that the beam reaches the intended target without glare.
