Trade show booth lighting cost is not just the price of the fixture. A useful budget includes the lights, mounting hardware, power distribution, venue electrical service, shipping and the time needed to test the system before the event.
The Main Cost Drivers
- Fixture quantity: determined by graphic width, booth height, beam angle, target area and ambient hall light.
- Output and optics: higher wattage can provide more light, but lumen output, beam shape and mounting distance determine useful coverage.
- Mounting: clamps, brackets, sliders and replacement parts must match the exact frame profile.
- Power: plug type, power cords, linkable connectors and venue electrical drops can cost as much as the lighting hardware on some shows.
- Certification documentation: requirements vary by event, venue, model and configuration. Verify the selected product before ordering.
- Logistics: destination, delivery speed, duties, taxes, storage and return shipping all affect project cost.
Plan by Booth Size, Then Verify the Layout
10×10 ft Booth
Two 25W-class arm lights are a common starting point for one backwall. Add another fixture when the booth has separate product zones, shelving, dark graphics or a higher mounting position.
10×20 ft Booth
Start the layout around four fixtures and adjust for graphic width, display height and the number of zones. A linkable system can reduce separate power leads, but the permitted connection quantity depends on the exact model and electrical configuration.
Island and Custom Booths
Budget by illuminated zone rather than floor area alone. Perimeter graphics, reception, products and demonstrations can need different beam angles and output. Send the booth drawing before purchasing a large quantity.
Do Not Compare Fixtures by Wattage Alone
Two lights with the same wattage can differ in lumen output, beam distribution, CRI, color temperature, arm length, connector and included hardware. Compare the complete configuration and what is included in each quantity. A lower fixture price can become more expensive if it needs extra adapters, separate power drops or replacement mounting parts.
Venue Electrical Cost
Many events charge separately for electrical service, labor, cable routing or late orders. Linkable fixtures may reduce the number of supply leads, but they do not remove the need to follow circuit limits and venue rules. Check the current exhibitor manual and order electrical service before the discount deadline when applicable.
Total Cost of Ownership
Reusable exhibition lighting should be evaluated over several shows. Include setup time, packed size, replacement cables, spare clamps, failure risk and the ability to reuse the same fixture on future frames. A reliable, compatible system can cost less over time than repeatedly replacing an unsuitable light.

- List booth dimensions, wall height and illuminated zones.
- Record the frame profile and mounting dimensions.
- Choose the target output, beam and color-temperature options.
- Confirm plug, voltage, connection limit and venue documentation.
- Add shipping, event electrical service and at least one suitable spare component for critical setups.
