SEG Light Box Mounting Brackets & M8 Track Sliders

SEG light box hardware is small, but it determines whether a display light mounts cleanly, stays aligned and can be removed without damaging the aluminum frame. The most common parts are M8 aluminum sliding blocks, track sliders, T-slot clips and light box mounting brackets.

These parts fit inside or attach to an extrusion channel. They are not selected by light output or color temperature. They are selected by the profile cross-section, slot dimensions, thread size and the way the load is transferred into the frame.

Why two M8 fixing points can matter

A single threaded point can be sufficient for a compact load, but a long arm creates leverage. If the bracket can rotate around one bolt, the light may drift out of alignment during setup or transport. Measurements to request from the frame supplier

  • Slot mouth width: the narrow opening the slider must pass through or sit behind.
  • Internal channel width: the space available for the sliding block.
  • Internal depth: confirms that the block and bolt have sufficient clearance.
  • Thread requirement: M8 thread diameter and the required bolt length.
  • Profile wall thickness: affects load distribution and bolt clearance.
  • Mounting direction: horizontal top rail, vertical post or another orientation.

Common installation mistake: choosing by the outside profile size

Two aluminum profiles can have the same external width and completely different internal channels. The slider fits the channel, not the outside dimension. A useful inquiry includes a cross-section drawing or a photo taken from the end of the extrusion with a ruler in frame.

Also check bolt length. A bolt that is too short may not engage enough thread; one that is too long can bottom out or contact the back of the channel before the bracket is tight. Use the hardware specification supplied with the mounting system.
